How to make a PDF under 300 KB from JPEG files

  1. Choose images. Tap Choose images and select one or more pictures. They go into the PDF in the order shown; use the arrows to reorder.
  2. Check the options. Page size A4 with a small margin is the default. The 300 KB maximum is already filled in.
  3. Press Convert to PDF. If the first PDF is too big, pictures are scaled down and re-encoded as JPEG, step by step, until the PDF fits.
  4. Download and check. The result line shows the final size next to the 300 KB limit. Open the PDF and make sure small print is still legible.

How many JPEG files fit in 300 KB?

A phone photo is often 3 to 4 MB. To fit 300 KB, each picture has to lose pixels as well as JPEG quality. As a rule of thumb from our tests, a document photo stays readable at about 25 to 40 KB, so 300 KB holds around 9 readable pictures.

Tips for small PDFs

  • Crop the photo to the document edges before converting; empty table or floor costs bytes.
  • Shoot in good light; noise from dark photos takes more space after compression.
  • Use one picture per page and remove duplicates.
  • If the form allows, send the front and back as two separate files.

Is it safe to compress a private PDF here?

Yes. The page reads your file with the browser's File API and does all the work in JavaScript on your device. When the job finishes, the page shows how many bytes were uploaded: zero. Nothing is stored, so there is nothing to delete afterwards.
